Client:
Borough Of Poole
Project: Broadstone
Middle School
Need: Accommodation
for a new classroom providing state of the art science labs and
ground floor music and art rooms.
Solution: Borough
Of Poole was keen to implement the principles of the current Best
Value initiative introduced by the government.
A permanent, two storey brick clad modular building with a link
to an existing classroom block and an expected 60 year design life
was constructed.
The 874m2 building was architecturally designed to match
the existing school buildings, have a high level of energy efficiency
and low maintenance costs in the future.
Duration: The building was completed with minimal disruption
in under 10 weeks and has an expected life of over 60 years.
Client comment: "We are delighted with the new block.
The project was undertaken in an exceptionally efficient and helpful
way and we have been impressed at the lack of disruption caused
to the rest of the school and the co-operation over health and safety
anxieties"
Marilyn Warden, Head Teacher
"The school has waited so long
the building is fantastic;
we are grateful to all who have made this possible".
