Client: Caversham
Primary School, Reading
Project: Single
Classroom including storage area, lobby, toilet facilities and a
cleaning area.
Need: The
building was required to provide additional teaching space for the
mathematics class.
Solution: Increasing
pressure upon schools to recruit and retain teaching staff is an
issue affecting all levels of eduction from Primary school age upwards.
Caversham Primary needed additional space fast, without compromising
on quality.
With short lead times and the flexibility to add additional bays
at a later date, Rollalong LiNX provided the ideal solution. Two
bays of Rollalong LiNX measuring 3m x 9.6m each were used to provide
the 69 square metres of additional space.
The classroom is the first Rollalong LiNX building to be specially
adapted with a Decra tiled pitched roof and steni clad finish to
match the existing buildings.
The modules were manufactured in Rollalong's quality controlled
factory, prior to delivery to site and installation. The overall
the project took just 11 weeks from receipt of order to handover.
Chris Tomkins, Head Teacher commented 'This is a much needed addition
to our school. Our specialist maths teacher has been teaching in
our 1930's dining room', Chris went on to say 'We are absolutely
thrilled with this new facility'. Councillor Peter Jones (chair of Reading council's education scrutiny
panel) commented 'This is a welcome addition to this popular school's
maths teaching facilities and one that I know will be popular with
the children, staff and parents'. |
