Client: Kings College Hospital NHS
Trust
Project: Ward
block accommodation to support existing facility
Need: To
provide additional ward accommodation, including reception desks,
shower and toilet facilities and full wheelchair access. The building
is located in the centre of London and as such requires a sympathetic
design to the surrounding area whilst maximising best utilisation
of space.
Solution: Rollalong
provided a 60 year design life building, finished in brick to fit
surrounding buildings. Given the nature of space being at a premium
within city centre locations, a two-storey building was manufactured
and erected with minimum disruption to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Internally, the building was fitted out with suspended ceilings,
low level wash hand basins, toilet and shower facilities accessible
to wheelchair users and with perimeter patient services including
overhead lamp and emergency call button.
The building was manufactured in Rollalong's quality controlled
factory, including the internal fit out and installation of all
mechanical and electrical services prior to delivery to site, erection
and connection to mains services.
Duration: The contract was secured and delivered in 8 months.
