Client: Mayday
Heathcare NHS Trust
Project: Mayday
Hospital in Croydon
Need: The
hospital needed a new eye unit which was to be built on top of the
existing outpatients department. The facility required 25 clinical
rooms and two waiting rooms.
Solution: The
unit was put into place over a weekend after all sections had arrived
on-site complete with internal walls, basins, toilets, decorations,
most of the electrical wiring and some flooring.
The modular eye unit blends seamlessly in external appearance with
other hospital buildings. Importantly, however the unit was opened
in around half the time than a traditional building would have taken
to construct and at a substantially lower cost.
The modular solution provided by Rollalong met perfectly the needs
of the hospital as Chief Executive of Mayday, Keith Ford explained:
"We needed more space to see more outpatients more quickly.
The modular solution is a fast and economic way to provide that
space within weeks.
