| Client:
London Borough of Redbridge
Project: Roding Lane Primary School
Need: To provide additional classroom
space to accommodate the increasing school roll numbers at Roding
Lane. A two storey classroom brick clad was needed.
Solution: A two storey, brick clad
60 year design life modular building extension was constructed providing
open classroom space with storage and cloakroom facilities.
The building encompassed many outstanding architectural features
such as a curved glass brick stairwell and decorative brickwork
purposefully designed to have empathy with the existing 1930's school
buildings. In addition extensive external works were undertaken
including a new play area, car park and the formation of a grass
mound with pond which was to be the school's nature area.
Client comment: "Rollalong has satisfied the local
authority's requirement for a high quality modular building delivered
to schedule and incorporating many specified architectural features.
The building also has a high level of performance and the school
will enjoy low energy and maintenance costs."
