Client: Travis Perkins

Project: On-site sales office

Need: To provide an on-site sales office to service the site operatives during the construction of the Castlepoint Retail Centre in Bournemouth. The office will provide support to the main contractor, Kier Build and its sub-contractors. The sales office is an innovative new solution to ensuring all site operatives can gain access to safety equipment at any time.

Solution: The facility has been supplied by Rollalong Limited and designed to ensure all on-site contractor staff and sub-contractors have instant access to all the tools and equipment they need to carry out their work with minimal interruption.

Travis Perkins has set up the sales office to provide support to the main contractor on-site Kier Build and its sub-contractors. It is designed to help maintain site productivity as well as health & safety standards by making sure the necessary equipment is readily available for sale or hire. The sales office is open during construction site working hours. When the sales office is not open there are two telephone hotlines available; one to Travis Perkins, Bournemouth sales office and one to the local Travis Perkins Tool Hire Centre.

Rollalong, who have also supplied the site office and welfare facilities to Kier at the Castlepoint development, supplied the 6.0 x 3.0 metre jack leg cabin which is finished in Travis Perkins' corporate livery. It vastly enhances Travis Perkins' on-site presence, provides an immediate point of contact for building supplies and demonstrates how at least one part of the construction industry is putting site service and standards high on the agenda.

The buildings were manufactured in Rollalong's quality controlled factory, including the internal fit out and installation of all mechanical and electrical services prior to delivery to site, erection and connection to mains services.

Duration: The unit took just over 4 weeks to manufacture.
