Client: West
Oxfordshire District Council
Project: Witney
ATP Sports Pavilion
Need: A
new all-weather sports facility for school and community use on
a former school playing field in Oxfordshire.
Solution: A
single storey, brick clad modular building with an expected working
life in excess of 50 years and the finished structure offers a number
of important construction features.
Rollalong designed and detailed the 18 units so that the junctions
merge seamlessly within the interior decor, while the contractor
erected an outer leaf of reconstructed stone.
Together with a pitched, tiled roof and the substantial feel of
Rollalongs modern modular units they afford the pavilion an
air of genuine permanence. Internally the building provides shower,
changing room facilities, office areas and a communal room with
adjoining kitchens and wash up facility.
Duration: Work began in July 2000, and the multi-purpose
changing, recreation and function facility was opened in October,
ready to accommodate the bulk of the autumn and winter sports programme.
