Company History Rollalong was formed in 1932 by an entrepreneur and incorporated in 1937 as a manufacturer of caravans. During World War II production turned to service vehicles such as ambulances and mobile canteens and then to residential accommodation during the post war housing shortage. The company was acquired by Hanson in 1976 as one of their first acquisitions. The growth of Rollalong to the leading position it holds today was accelerated by the acquisition of Lesser Building Systems in 1988. This acquisition enabled an immediate product range extension to include enhanced modular building solutions and assisted the establishment of a presence within the Education, Ministry of Defence, Healthcare, Hospitality, Office and most recently Housing and Accommodation sectors. In February 1999 Rollalong became part of Newship Limited (formerly Send Group Ltd), a collective of four companies with a combined turnover of over £100 million, of which Rollalong is the largest.
