58 Bed Staff and Patient Accommodation Annex ‘’Wood House’’

Pride PFI and Rollalong have been awarded full marks for the procurement and delivery of the new 58 Bed accommodation annex at Headley court. At an Award Ceremony on 1st April, the Minister of Defense (Acquisition) the Right Honorable Quentin Davies presented the joint team with the award.

The building was delivered in record time through all stages of the development. A high profile site on the Epsom Downs in the Green belt, Planning in the area was always going to be contentious and temporary permission for 3 years was granted on the basis that the building could be ultimately be demountable. Therefore brick and block construction was not deemed acceptable for either the build time or potential relocation.

The building is less that 4 metres from the security boundary and this required the development of a CTM (Counter Terrorism Measures) system for the volumetric building which would be acceptable. Defense Technical Service at Sutton Coldfield approved a CTM cladding system comprising of 3mm steel construction with a dense 25mm concrete panel cladding system.
