We are delighted to announce that Rollalong have been awarded the contract to build a new four classroom building at Waterfield Primary School in Crawley. As a result of population growth and local demand, it has proven necessary to expand Waterfield Primary School to a 2-Form entry.
The proposal is to create these new classrooms on an area currently being used as part of the school’s habitat / soft informal play area.
Offsite construction has been chosen as the ideal solution by West Sussex Council to minimise the disruption to the school and the wider local community. The new building has been designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding environment of the school and will have minimal impact on the local amenity, environment and drainage system.
The new classrooms will provide pupils of Waterfield Primary School with an exciting and attractive place to learn. Natural daylight has been maximised and the roof has been extended on the south elevation to prevent too much solar heat gain during the summer months. The northern elevation has been designed to reduce the visual impact from Ifield Mill Pond by having a stepped roof.
Rollalong is once again harnessing the benefits of offsite construction to respond to the school shortage crisis. This new building will ensure that the school can cope with expected pupil numbers for many years to come.
