Rollalong Permanent Offsite Construction recently handed over a new single storey four classroom building to allow for an increase in pupil numbers at Waterfield Primary School in Crawley for West Sussex County Council.
The offsite built classrooms consisted of ten modules form four classrooms, staff, pupil and accessible toilets, and a store room, complete with a Rollalong supplied corridor and glazed circulation areas.
Rollalong have standard classroom designs to comply with Building Bulletin requirements, however we can also support our customers bespoke needs requirements. In this case, Waterfield Primary School requested that the building was clad in stained Siberian larch from FSC® sources and for a rendered panel to be coloured blue to match the current features of the school, all of which was completed to high specification to meet the customer’s standards.
All special features, fixtures and fittings including easy wipe clean surfaces, provision for electrics for plug sockets and interactive technology were fitted in our Dorset factory, locally based on the South Coast.
Safety is a critical core element for all our school buildings, Rollalong incorporate non-slip exterior floor surfaces and anti-finger-trap guards on all the doors. This provides a sense of security for teachers, pupils and parents.
Rollalong completed the piled foundation works in Crawley, simultaneously with the school building being manufactured in the state of the art factory in Dorset. The project was completed on budget and within a realistic timeframe, tendered and secured through mini competition via the West Sussex County Council Framework Select Modular Supplier List.
